Just Starting

If you are just starting to excercise/ lift weights don’t over do it. Most people start going to the gym and burn out in the first month.

Before you hit the gym, you need to get your diet in order. There are lots of websites on the internet that will assist you with this. The one I have used is fitday.com It is helpful for tracking what you eat in a day. Most people will start by cutting out carbs. Don’t make this mistake, think of carbs as fuel to keep you going.

After you get your diet straight, then start going to the gym. I would suggest going 2 days a week for no more than 1 hour. I would perform a whole body workout and possibly 15-20 minutes of cardio, depending on your bodyfat and goals.

Start out by setting short term goals. These goals will depend on what you are looking to do. If you have questions on this please leave me a comment and I will do my best to answer them.

After you have been consistent at the gym for several months, you may begin to alter your workouts for your goals.

Good Luck! Remember not to over do it overtraining is really easy to do.
